Elizabeth City Skippers Name Landon Heller Head Coach
Elizabeth City, NC — The Elizabeth City Skippers are proud to announce Landon Heller as the team’s new Head Coach, ushering in a new era focused on competitive baseball, player development, and a strong team culture.
A native of Youngsville, North Carolina, Heller brings both familiarity and momentum to the role after serving as an assistant coach for the Skippers last season. He currently works as an Assistant Coach for Chowan University baseball, continuing to build his reputation as a rising coach in the collegiate ranks.
“Being able to step into this role means a lot,” said Heller. “The Skippers are a great organization in a great city. Being a young coach is definitely a challenge, but having been here last year and feeling the support from the fans gives me a lot of confidence. I’m excited to put a quality, competitive team on the field and create a culture of winning baseball.”
Heller’s vision for the upcoming season is rooted in both performance and progress. He emphasized that success will be measured not only in wins, but in growth. “Success for us is representing Elizabeth City the right way and making a run in the playoffs,” he said. “We want to be better than we were last year and continue building something that improves year after year.”
Returning to Elizabeth City for another summer is something Heller is especially looking forward to. “What excites me most is the opportunity to spend another summer here and give our fans a team they can be proud of,” he said. “We want them to enjoy watching us compete while our players continue to develop and create lifelong memories.”
Beyond the scoreboard, Heller is committed to building a program that reflects strong values. “I want this team to represent accountability, hard work, and respect,” he said. “Wins and losses matter, but how we carry ourselves and how we treat each other is the most important thing.”
Outside of baseball, Heller enjoys spending time on the golf course and fishing.
With his previous experience in the organization, passion for development, and commitment to building a winning culture, Heller is poised to lead the Skippers into an exciting new season.
